Your Journey Unfolds

Every moment of this itinerary has been crafted over years of guiding travellers through Murchison Falls. No filler, no rushed stops — just pure, immersive Uganda.

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe in your private safari vehicle. As the city fades behind you, Uganda's countryside opens up — rolling hills, banana plantations, and red-earth tracks leading north into the savannah.

En route, you'll stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an optional guided walk to encounter Uganda's only wild white rhinos on foot — an intimate experience unlike anything in East Africa. By afternoon, you cross the Nile at Karuma Falls and enter Murchison Falls National Park for your first game drive. Elephants and giraffes are frequently spotted at this hour.

Early morning departure from Kampala or Entebbe
Optional Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary walk (white rhino tracking)
Scenic drive through Murchison Falls National Park
Afternoon game drive en route to lodge
Sunset dinner at your lodge overlooking the park

This is the day most guests say they will never forget. After a hearty breakfast, you board a private boat on the Victoria Nile for a 3-hour cruise to the base of Murchison Falls — where the entire Nile is forced through a gap just 7 metres wide with explosive, thundering force.

Along the way, the riverbanks teem with life: massive Nile crocodiles basking in the morning sun, pods of hippos emerging from the water, families of elephants drinking at the river's edge, and over 50 bird species — including the prehistoric shoebill stork if fortune favours you. Afternoon brings a relaxed game drive through the northern sector, the park's finest wildlife zone.

Sunrise breakfast at the lodge
Private Nile boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls
Hippos, crocodiles, elephants & rare birdlife along the river
Optional hike to the top of the falls (rewarded with breathtaking views)
Afternoon game drive through the northern sector
Evening bush sundowners (luxury package)

A full day dedicated to the finest game drives in the country. Murchison Falls National Park is home to Africa's largest population of Nile crocodiles, one of Uganda's remaining lion prides, vast herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, oribi, hartebeest, waterbuck, and the magnificent Rothschild giraffe — one of the world's most endangered giraffe subspecies.

Your expert guide will navigate the northern park, known for its open savannah grasslands and acacia woodland — terrain that offers extraordinary long-distance sightings. A packed lunch is enjoyed at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Nile. Evening returns to the lodge for dinner under a sky blazing with stars, far from any city light.

Dawn game drive before breakfast (premium wildlife viewing)
Track lions, leopards, and elephants through open savannah
Rothschild giraffe and buffalo herds in the northern sector
Picnic lunch at a Nile viewpoint
Late afternoon game drive and birdwatching
Campfire dinner at the lodge

Your final morning in Murchison begins before breakfast with one last sunrise game drive — often the most magical of the entire stay. The golden hour light transforms the savannah, and the park comes alive before the heat of the day sets in. Lions and leopards are most active at this time.

After a leisurely breakfast and check-out, your guide drives you back towards Kampala or Entebbe, with comfortable stops along the way. You'll arrive in the afternoon or early evening with memories that will stay with you for life — and likely a strong desire to return to Uganda very soon.

Early sunrise game drive (best wildlife activity hours)

Optional community village stop en route

★★★★★

"The boat cruise to the falls was the most breathtaking thing I have ever witnessed. Our guide Samuel knew exactly where every animal would be. I saw more wildlife in 4 days than in 10 days in Kenya. Absolutely world-class service from start to finish."
