Uganda safari holidays from the UK
Discover Uganda. Experience Africa Differently.
Sit an arm's length from a mountain gorilla family, track wild chimpanzees at dawn and watch lions from the Nile's banks, all on one holiday. We are a Uganda-based operator with a UK team, so you plan in your own time zone and travel with people who live here.
Why Uganda
The Africa most British travellers have not yet seen
Uganda is where Winston Churchill reportedly called Africa "the pearl", and where you can meet mountain gorillas in the morning and cruise a hippo-filled channel by afternoon. Roughly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas live in Bwindi and the neighbouring Virunga volcanoes, and Kibale Forest holds some of the best chimpanzee tracking on the continent.
English is the official language, driving is on the left, and the welcome is famously warm. Many UK travellers come for gorillas and stay for the people, the lakes and the sheer variety: forest, savannah, waterfalls and the Nile in one compact country.
A morning you will remember
04:45, Bwindi. The forest is still dripping.
Your guide hands you a walking stick and a smile. Two hours of climbing through mist, and then the trackers stop, point and whisper. Ten metres ahead a silverback is chewing leaves, a baby is rolling down a bank, and nobody in your group says a word.
You have one hour with the family. It passes in what feels like five minutes. That is the moment our UK travellers tell us about first, and it is why we protect every permit, every lodge night and every transfer around it.

UK travel planning
Getting from the UK to Uganda
Most UK travellers fly into Entebbe International Airport (EBB), about 45 minutes' drive from Kampala. Routes from London and other UK airports usually involve one connection, and some airlines may operate direct services. Schedules and fares change often, so we do not quote them here. We are happy to review options with you or your travel agent and book your airport meet-and-greet and first night.
Tip: send us your preferred dates before you buy flights, because gorilla permits for dry months sell out early.
Planning timeline
- 6 to 9 months ahead: permits and lodges for peak months
- 3 to 4 months ahead: pay deposit, then arrange vaccinations
