Wander and Wonder Tours is a tour operator based in Uganda, specialising in gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and wildlife safaris. Our team works from both Uganda and the United Kingdom. For data protection purposes, we are the controller of your personal information.

Full name, date of birth, nationality and passport details needed for permits and visa support.

Medical conditions or physical limitations that affect how we run your trek safely.
Payments
Payment confirmations and transfer records. Online payments are handled through WeTravel, and we do not store full card numbers.
Travel preferences
Dietary needs, lodging preferences and the itinerary you choose.
Correspondence
Emails, WhatsApp messages and other conversations with our team.
How we use your information
- To confirm your booking and arrange every part of your journey
- To apply for gorilla and chimpanzee permits with the Uganda Wildlife Authority on your behalf
- To keep you updated on your itinerary, preparation and travel changes
- To coordinate with our lodges, guides and drivers
- To issue invoices, process payments and keep financial records
- To answer your questions and look after you before, during and after your trip
- To meet our legal duties in Uganda and the United Kingdom
- To send tour news and offers, only if you have agreed to receive them
Who sees your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only to deliver your booking, with the Uganda Wildlife Authority for permits, the lodges in your itinerary, the guides and drivers assigned to you, and government authorities such as immigration when the law requires it.
Every partner we work with is expected to handle your details with care and to use them only for the purpose they were shared.
International transfers
Because we operate across Uganda and the United Kingdom, your information may move between the two. Where data is transferred to or from the United Kingdom, we follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation and related law, and we take the steps needed to keep your data secure wherever it is processed.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including legal, accounting and reporting requirements. Booking records are usually kept for seven years after your tour, in line with financial regulations. Health information is deleted once your trip ends unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have the right to:
- Receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed
- Object to or restrict certain kinds of processing
