Wander and Wonder Tours Uganda
Booking Terms and Conditions
Every unforgettable journey begins with a clear understanding. These terms explain how we hold your dates, protect your permits and care for your safari from the first enquiry to the final farewell.
Acceptance of Terms
These Booking Terms and Conditions form the agreement between you, the traveller, and Wander and Wonder Limited, trading as Wander and Wonder Tours. By paying a deposit or confirming a booking in writing, you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and every person in your travelling party.
The person who makes the booking is the lead traveller and is responsible for sharing these terms with all members of the group.
Making a Booking
Your journey is designed around you. Once you have agreed an itinerary and quotation with your tour consultant, your booking is confirmed when:
- You have returned the signed or approved quotation by email or WhatsApp.
- Your deposit has cleared in our account.
- We have issued your written booking confirmation from bookings@wanderandwonderug.com.
Quotations are valid for 14 days. Availability of permits, lodges and vehicles is not guaranteed until your deposit is received.
Deposits and Payments
- A deposit of 30 percent of the total tour cost secures your booking.
- The full balance is due 60 days before your arrival date. Bookings made within 60 days of travel require full payment at confirmation.
- Payments are made through our secure WeTravel payment page. You can open it with the payment link or by scanning our QR code with your phone camera. Bank and card charges are paid by the traveller.
- If the balance is not received by the due date, we may treat the booking as cancelled and the cancellation charges below will apply.
Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permits
Permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and are limited each day. We secure them in your name as soon as your deposit is confirmed.
- Permit rules, prices and refund conditions are set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, not by Wander and Wonder Tours, and may change without notice.
- Once purchased, permits are generally not transferable, and dates can only be changed where the Authority allows it and a space is available.
- The minimum age for gorilla trekking and chimpanzee tracking is 15 years. Travellers who are unwell on the day, particularly with a cough, cold or stomach illness, may be refused entry to protect the animals.
- Sightings are never guaranteed. Wildlife is wild, and our guides will always do everything possible to give you the finest encounter.
Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be sent in writing to bookings@wanderandwonderug.com. The charge is calculated from the date we receive your message and is based on the total tour cost.
| Days Before Arrival | Cancellation Charge |
|---|---|
| 91 days or more | Deposit of 30 percent retained |
| 61 to 90 days | 50 percent of the tour cost |
| 31 to 60 days | 75 percent of the tour cost |
| 30 days or fewer, or no show | 100 percent of the tour cost |
Changes to Your Booking
We will always try to accommodate your requests. Changes to dates, travellers, accommodation or activities are subject to availability and to supplier conditions.
- Please send change requests in writing as early as possible.
- Any change in cost charged by lodges, parks or the Authority will be passed on to you with a clear explanation.
- Reducing the number of travellers may increase the per person price of shared costs such as vehicle and guide.
Changes and Cancellation by Us
In rare cases we may need to adjust your itinerary because of road conditions, weather, park closures, safety advice or supplier changes. When this happens we will offer an alternative of equal or better standard.
If we must cancel your safari for a reason within our control, you will receive a full refund of all payments made to us or a rebooking at no extra charge, whichever you prefer.
Prices and What Is Included
Your quotation lists everything included in your journey, typically private vehicle and driver guide, accommodation, meals as stated, park entry fees, permits where specified, and bottled water on safari.
Unless written in your quotation, the following are not included: international flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, personal items, laundry, drinks outside meals, and optional activities. Prices are quoted in the currency stated and may change with government taxes, park fees or exchange rates before full payment is made. Once your balance is paid, your price is fixed.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is required for every traveller. It should cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and loss of baggage or personal belongings. Please send us your policy details before departure.
Health, Visas and Travel Documents
- Each traveller is responsible for a passport valid for at least six months, the correct Uganda visa or eVisa, and any transit visas.
- A valid yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Uganda. Please speak to your doctor about other vaccinations and malaria prevention.
- You must tell us in advance about any medical condition, mobility limit or dietary need so that we can plan with care.
- We are not responsible for refusal of entry or any costs caused by incorrect or missing documents.
Safety and Conduct
Adventure in the wild asks for respect. Travellers agree to follow the instructions of our guides and park rangers at all times, keep the required distance from gorillas, chimpanzees and other wildlife, and respect local people, customs and communities.
We reserve the right to remove any traveller whose behaviour endangers the group, wildlife or staff, without refund.
Liability and Force Majeure
We arrange your journey with reliable lodges, transport providers and guides, and we take every reasonable care in selecting them. We cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury, delay or damage caused by events outside our control, including natural disasters, severe weather, political unrest, strikes, epidemics, government action, road closures or airline changes.
Where such an event prevents travel, we will work with you to rebook or recover whatever is possible from our suppliers, though costs already committed may not be recoverable.
Feedback and Complaints
If something is not right during your safari, please tell your guide or call our team immediately so that we can solve it while you are still in Uganda. Any complaint after your trip should be sent to info@wanderandwonderug.com within 30 days of your return, and we will respond within 14 days.
Privacy and Governing Law
We use your personal details only to plan and deliver your journey, to book permits and accommodation on your behalf, and to keep you informed. We never sell your information. Details required by lodges, airlines and the Uganda Wildlife Authority are shared only as needed.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. We reserve the right to update them from time to time. The version in force on the date of your booking confirmation applies to your journey.
